Ren Lee

Ren Lee is a social justice advocate, informal educator, science enthusiast, and the new Agora Project Fellow for the “Voices and Votes: A New Agora for New York” at the Museum Association of New York. Ren graduated from the George Washington University in 2021 with a master’s in museum management with a focus in Science Centers and DEAI and a certificate in nonprofit management.

Ren started their museum career at the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) in Chicago where they worked as a facilitator creating science engagement experiences with guests. While working at MSI they founded the Chicagoland Alliance of Museums with Pride’s (CAMP) affinity group, CAMPout, now called the Chicago Alliance of Museum People with Pride (CAMPP) a volunteer professional organization for LGBTQ+ museum professionals. Ren recently completed their fellowship program with the Dallas Museum of Art as the 2022-2023 Strategic Management Fellow where they worked on various projects relating to the Strategic plan including the establishment of 5 employee resources groups for the organization.

Ren is also a co-founder of the nonprofit, Agate Creatives, an organization that develops revolutionary experiences that dismantle white supremacy culture and amplifies marginalized communities to reimagine the traditional museum model.
