Under her direction, the Museum has been awarded major support from the Art Bridges Foundation, founded by American philanthropist Alice Walton, the Eugene M. Lang Foundation, the Mellon Foundation, and Bloomberg Philanthropies. Previously, Turchinsky worked for nineteen years at The Metropolitan Museum of Art as an award-winning media director, producer, and delegate to the Board of Trustees. She currently serves on ArtTable’s national Board of Directors, championing women in the arts, the Board of Nonprofit Westchester, the Yonkers Workforce Development Board, and is an elected member of the Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD). 914Inc. The Museum has received national press in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Black Art in America, Forbes, Hyperallergic, and the Wall Street Journal, and is a featured location in HBO’s The Gilded Age series. Industry honors for the HRM during her tenure include awards for excellence from the Museum Association of New York, Greater Hudson Heritage Network, Best of Westchester and the Global Fine Arts Awards. Turchinsky holds degrees from Georgetown, New York University, and Columbia University. An expert in creativity within constraints, she lectures at universities and international summits on museums as key cultural conveners and impactful catalysts for a better society.
